This webinar will cover problems faced by translators when translating prepositions from English to Spanish and how to avoid transferring English structure into Spanish. Practical examples and a bibliography of useful resources will be provided.
This webinar will be presented in Spanish and English and is intended for translators of English to Spanish, but will also be of benefit to translators of Spanish to English.
The Presenter
Susana Roca-Smith was born and raised in Spain. She is an ATA-Certified Translator (English-Spanish) with 8+ years of translation experience. She works full-time as a translator for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, where she translates public health materials for health and human services programs. She served on the AATIA Board as Secretary and coordinated the Spanish Translation Special Interest Group (SpanSIG) for 3 years, and during that time she gave presentations on various topics related to Spanish translation. In 2002 and 2003 she obtained a Medical Interpretation Certificate and an Advanced Translation Certificated from Austin Community College.
Participants will receive instructions for signing into the webinar via e-mail after registering.
